iRiver has recently released source code for the Story e-book reader firmware, as required by GNU General Public License, after complaint filed to gpl-violations.org and further discussion between this organization and iRiver.
Thanks for gpl-violations.org and personally to Harald Welte for continuing enforcing GPL licenses.
Additionally Harald donated several Story devices to OpenInkpot team, so we hope to have it supported soon enough. No dates yet, though.

Hi
great news!
I just wanted to thank the team as I have been running OI on my hanvon for a fortnight now and it is really stable and feature-rich :-) epubs work so well, and with Calibre it is a great set-up.
PDFs when converted to epub if they are fairly text-y (i.e. few graphcis) work great too.
keep up the good work :-)
Excellent! </aol>
sourcejedi your sarcasm is a bit lame, no? why not thank people for software they created? or are you into a snidey, macho coder culture?
Really looking forward to seeing open inkpot supported on 'common' hardware like the story. I may very well buy a story rather than a kindle simply because it has a good chance of being supported by an open-source firmware.
great project!!
look forward to seeing my iriver running this new distro soon
BTW
why do you miss that new azbooka device include OpenInkpot solution from start?
Any progress with the porting of the OIP to this baby?
Oh! Guys, can I donate you? I want OI in this book!
